Shakespeare Crumpet Quotes

Gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their crumpet cheap whiles any
speak
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.

There are more things in heaven and crumpet, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy.

Doctor Who 03x13 Last of the Time Lords

Again, I was making strange noises all through the episode and my sister told me to shut up :P

Incoherent, spoilerish thoughts... )

This episode is good, but not GOOOOOD. I still think The Parting of the Ways is the best series finale so far. But it caused me to make strange noises, which is good. Squee is good.

...Can I have the Christmas Special now? Pretty please?

Harriet Jones and Mr Saxon...

Nine said that Harriet Jones would be elected for three terms, but later in Christmas Invasion Ten told her he could bring her down with six words, which he did, and soon we saw her facing a vote of no confidence. And now Mr Saxon (WHEEEEE!) is the new PM. Does that mean if the Doctor had not brought down Harriet Jones, Mr Saxon would not have been the PM? So the Doctor is playing an even more important role in Saxon's plan than I realised! He's at least partly responsible for Saxon's reign of terror! Wheee!

Doctor Who 03x11 Utopia SQUEEEEE.

This ep took me so long to download, so I spoiled myself There's so much love in this episode, I have to rewatch it. Dad was being annoying by interrupting, asking me stupid questions and stuff.

But never mind Dad, here comes the Spoilery squeeage! )

Whee! Doctor!

The last three episodes of Doctor Who were totally brilliant. Absolutely fantastic. I actually cared for the supporting characters. Love. And I never imagined a Doctor-light episode could be this good. Simply brilliant. I'VE ALWAYS KNOWN THAT STATUTES MOVE WHEN YOU'RE NOT LOOKING AT IT!!!

Now bring on Utopia! I've been waiting for Ten to meet Jack for soooo long. Mmm...

Fic: Tug of Love

Title: Tug of Love
Author: [info]trusea
Characters: Horatio/Archie
Rating: PG-13
Disclaimer: They are not mine, I make no money from this.
Challenge prompt: Queues
Author’s note: Wrote this silly little thing more quickly than I usually do. I confess: I am fascinated by Horry’s curls. And I bet Archie is too. I recently got my hair permed - perhaps it was me subconsciously trying to become Horatio, which is an unsettling thought :P

Just curious...

I was reading stories by [info]mylodon, and I started wondering. When you read (and/or write) Hornblower fic, especially H/A slash fic, do you identify with Archie or Horatio more? Or do you *not* identify with any character?

I can enjoy many, if not most, books and stories and films without actually identifying with any character, but I tend to put myself in Horatio's place when I read H/A slash fic. And somehow it feels right, despite the fact that Horatio as a character annoys me sometimes. But at the same time, I like to think I'm more Archie-like than Horatio-like. I'm not always nice to Horry, cos I think there's more than a bit of Mary Sue-ness in him, but I still like him a lot, or else I wouldn't be reading and writing H/A slash.

Is it because I luv Archie so much that I need to put myself in his lover's place? Or is it because I'm actually more like Horatio than I'd like to admit? Not in the sense that I'm a mathematical genius (I'm worse than Simpson at maths), but that I'm lonely and emotionally fragile, like Horry is, beneath that cool façade?

Just a thought, no point or anything :)

It's raining men!

One of the most hilarious things I've seen in the last few days. This is a fanvid on Youtube (not made by me of course), celebrating the abundance of sexy men in Hornblower, from Archie to Horry to My-Lord-Edrington. My only complaint is that Mariette (whose existence I've actually forgotten) is in there too for one or two seconds. But it is fun, watch it!
